Pros to mid cuttings are you'll likely get multiple new tips forming during growing season. Normal dings, dents, scars, nibbles, aerial roots, black spots, etoliation, possible critters etc. due to growing outdoors in the normal southern California elements, and or sitting on tables a little too long.  Great addition to your collection,  ready to be cleaned, rooted, potted and given a new home.
